Villanova vs Penn State for finance: which is better for career opportunities?

Villanova tends to offer a more concentrated path into finance recruiting, with a tighter alumni network and stronger visibility in the Philadelphia and New York finance corridor, while Penn State gives you a much larger alumni base, a bigger campus ecosystem, and more sheer volume of employers and student organizations.

For finance specifically, Villanova usually has the edge in employer perception and recruiting focus. Its business school is well known, and finance students often benefit from a smaller, more relationship-driven environment where it can be easier to get advising, faculty attention, and alumni outreach that actually turns into interviews. For jobs in investment banking, corporate finance, asset management, and similar business roles, Villanova is often seen as punching above its size.

Penn State is absolutely capable of leading to strong outcomes, but it can be more self-directed. The Smeal College of Business has a solid reputation.
