Indiana University has the edge for undergraduate business. Kelley is one of the most established and nationally visible undergrad business schools in the country, and that visibility matters for recruiting, alumni reach, and how easily employers recognize the program name.

One big differentiator is employer recruiting. Kelley has a very structured pipeline into internships and full-time roles, especially in areas like consulting, finance, marketing, accounting, and corporate leadership programs. Its undergraduate business school is a central part of IU’s identity, so the campus infrastructure, student organizations, workshops, and career preparation are built heavily around business outcomes.

Another difference is national brand and alumni network. Minnesota’s Carlson School is well respected and absolutely capable of leading to strong outcomes, but Kelley tends to carry broader name recognition across more regions of the country. That can help if you want flexibility beyond the Midwest or if you are targeting competitive business internships where school-specific recruiting channels matter.

Minnesota does have a real advantage in location. Being in the Twin Cities gives students direct access to a major corporate market during the school year, with strong connections to large employers headquartered there.
