Which is better for finance careers, the University of Florida or Fordham University?

Fordham is the stronger pick for finance careers, especially if you are aiming at investment banking, asset management, or other New York City-facing roles. Its Gabelli School of Business has deep ties to the NYC finance market, students can intern during the academic year because of the location, and alumni access in finance is one of Fordham’s biggest advantages. UF can still absolutely lead to finance jobs, but Fordham usually gives undergraduates more direct proximity to the firms and networking ecosystem that drive early finance recruiting.

Location is the biggest differentiator. Fordham students, particularly from the Rose Hill and Lincoln Center campuses, have access to internships, coffee chats, networking events, and part-time in-semester roles in Manhattan that are much harder to replicate from Gainesville. For finance, where recruiting can be relationship-driven and early exposure matters, being in New York is a real structural advantage.

UF’s edge is value and broad brand strength, especially in Florida and the Southeast. Warrington is a respected business school.
