What is the best strategy for writing the UChicago activities list?
I'm working on my UChicago application and trying to make the activities section feel clear and strong without sounding repetitive. I have a mix of school clubs, a part-time job, and a few things I do on my own, so I'm not sure how to organize them or what kind of wording works best.
I'm mainly trying to understand how to present the activities list in a way that fits UChicago's style and makes the most important parts of my involvement stand out.

Instead of “Member of debate club,” write something closer to “Prepared cases weekly, mentored new members, and helped team qualify for state tournament.” Keep wording compact and concrete. Strong verbs, numbers, time commitment, leadership, initiative, and outcomes matter more than trying to sound impressive.
Avoid repetition across entries. If several activities show leadership, vary what each one highlights. One can emphasize scale, another creativity, another consistency, another intellectual depth. For independent activities, do not undersell them. If you taught yourself something, built something, published something, earned money, or stuck with a serious interest over time, frame it as real work.
