Does UConn do college interviews for applicants?

I’m applying to UConn and trying to figure out what parts of the application matter most. I couldn’t find a clear answer on whether they offer or require interviews for applicants.

I want to know if an interview is part of the process or if they review applications without one.

UConn does not require or generally offer admissions interviews for first-year applicants. For most undergraduate applicants, the application is reviewed without an interview, so you should not expect interviewing to be part of the standard process. That means the most important parts of your application are the materials you submit, especially your transcript, course rigor, and the rest of the Common App information.

UConn’s admissions process is primarily based on your academic record and the documents in your application rather than a conversation or evaluative interview. If you were worried about needing to schedule one or being at a disadvantage for not having one, that is usually not an issue at UConn because interviews are simply not a regular component of first-year admission.

In practice, focus your energy on the parts that actually carry weight: strong grades in challenging classes, a clear and complete application, and any required supporting materials for your specific program. If you are applying to a special program, honors program, or a major with separate requirements, check that program’s page carefully, since some may have additional steps that are different from general undergraduate admission.
