Is Johns Hopkins a good pre-med school?

I’m a high school student trying to figure out whether Johns Hopkins is actually a strong place to go if I want to study pre-med. I know the school has a big reputation, but I’m trying to understand how it is for someone aiming for medical school.

I’m mostly wondering whether the classes, advising, and overall environment make it a good choice for pre-med students.

Johns Hopkins is one of the strongest pre-med schools in the country, especially if you want a research-heavy environment and lots of clinical exposure in a major medical center. The university is also known for rigorous science coursework, which can prepare students well for the MCAT and med school-level material.

That said, it is also a very challenging place academically, and pre-med there can feel intense. Johns Hopkins does have advising and pre-health resources, but success still usually depends on the student being proactive about finding opportunities and support.

If you want a school with top-tier science, strong hospital access, and serious research opportunities, Hopkins is an excellent pre-med choice.
