Does Johns Hopkins offer alumni interviews for applicants?
I’m working on my college list and trying to understand how much interviews matter at different schools. I’ve seen some colleges use alumni interviews as part of the application, but I’m not sure how Johns Hopkins handles them.
I just want to know whether applicants can expect an interview opportunity there or if admissions is reviewed without one.

Yes, Johns Hopkins does offer optional alumni interviews for many applicants, but they are not guaranteed and they are not required. Interviews are typically arranged when alumni volunteers are available in your area, so some students will get one and others won’t. Johns Hopkins also makes clear that not having an interview will not hurt your application, and being unable to interview is not a negative factor in review.
The main purpose is informational and to give the admissions office another optional source of context.
