Does NYU offer merit scholarships for undergraduates?

I’m a high school junior looking at NYU and trying to understand how financial aid works there. I’ve heard that some schools give merit-based scholarships in addition to need-based aid, but I’m not sure if NYU is one of them.

I want to know whether undergraduates can receive merit scholarships from the university.

NYU’s main university-wide merit awards include the AnBryce Scholarship, the MLK Scholarship, the University Scholars Program, and the Othmer Scholarship, along with some school-specific and external awards. In general, most NYU aid is need-based rather than merit-based, so students should not expect a large number of automatic merit awards.

For many applicants, NYU’s merit scholarships are not something you apply for separately in a standard way, since some are considered as part of the admissions process and others are tied to specific programs or schools. NYU also has the Stern Undergraduate Dean’s Scholarship and other divisional scholarships that may be available depending on the college within NYU.
