What is Greek life culture like at the University of Vermont?

I’m a high school senior trying to get a feel for campus culture before applying. UVM comes up a lot for me, but I don’t know how big Greek life is there or what role it plays in student social life.

I’m mainly trying to understand the general vibe of Greek life on campus and whether it feels like a major part of student culture.

Greek life at the University of Vermont is present, but it is not the center of campus social life. A lot of students socialize through clubs, outdoor activities, campus events, and Burlington itself. If you are looking for a campus where Greek life clearly shapes the overall culture, UVM is usually not seen that way.

That said, fraternities and sororities do have a visible presence, and some students are very involved in them. For some students, Greek life is an important social circle; for many others, it is just one option among many.

So if you’re wondering whether Greek life dominates student life, the answer is no. It exists, but it’s more of a smaller subculture than the defining feature of campus.
