What is Michigan State known for academically?

I’m a junior looking at Michigan State and trying to understand its academic reputation beyond the general campus vibe. I keep hearing different things about what it’s strongest in, but I want a clearer picture from a student perspective.

Michigan State is best known academically for its programs in business, education, agriculture, and communications, along with strong research opportunities across many fields. The Eli Broad College of Business is one of the school’s biggest academic draws, and the College of Education is especially well regarded. MSU is also a top name in agriculture and natural resources because of its land-grant mission and the breadth of its research in food, environment, and sustainability.

Beyond those headline areas, MSU has a strong reputation in supply chain management, packaging, hospitality business, and several STEM and health-related fields. Its supply chain program is particularly well known nationally, and the university’s size helps it offer a very wide range of majors and labs.
