What should I do during a Drexel accepted student visit to decide if it’s the right fit?

I was admitted to Drexel and I’m planning to visit before making my final decision. I already know I should look at the campus and dorms, but I’m not sure what parts of the visit are actually most helpful for figuring out whether I’d be happy there.

I’m trying to use the visit well instead of just walking around and leaving with a vague impression.

Go in with a short checklist so you leave with answers, not just a vibe. For Drexel specifically, I’d focus on daily life, the co-op culture, and how the campus feels as part of Philadelphia, since those are some of the biggest things that shape the student experience.

Try to sit in on an admitted student session or ask directly about your major’s academic structure, advising, and how students balance classes with co-op prep. Drexel’s quarter system moves fast, so ask current students whether it feels energizing or stressful, and how much support they actually get when workload picks up.

If possible, talk to current students, ideally one in your major and one outside it. Ask what surprised them after enrolling, how easy it was to make friends, whether professors are accessible, and what students do on weekdays and weekends. Those answers are often more useful than the official presentation.

Definitely look at housing, but also walk the surrounding area beyond the tour route. Get a feel for whether University City feels comfortable, convenient, and interesting to you. Check where you’d get food, study, work out, and spend downtime. A campus can look good on paper but still not match how you want to live.

Since Drexel is known for co-op, ask detailed questions about outcomes, not just marketing language. Find out how students get placements, how competitive popular co-ops are, whether students feel supported if they do not land their first choice, and what employers commonly recruit from your program.
