Its semester-long study-abroad options and business school resources can make it a strong platform for students who may later pivot toward consulting, corporate finance, marketing, or management while retaining a global focus.

FIU is particularly compelling for a student who wants international business to be central rather than supplemental. Miami creates practical proximity to multinational firms, freight and logistics activity, trade organizations, and companies working throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Students interested in cross-border operations, import-export, supply chain, regional market development, or bilingual business careers may find that location especially valuable. Spanish proficiency would be a meaningful asset there, though it is not required to study the field.

For international business specifically, FIU has the stronger overall fit because its dedicated major and Miami-based professional ecosystem align closely with cross-border business careers. UGA is the better choice only if you value its broader flagship network and want to combine international business with a stronger emphasis on another traditional business discipline.
