Is Georgetown or Notre Dame better for preparing for law school?

Georgetown has the edge for a student who wants undergraduate access to law-adjacent work while preparing for law school. Notre Dame is still an excellent law-school launching point, particularly for students drawn to its close-knit undergraduate environment and its emphasis on ethics, philosophy, and rigorous argument. Those strengths align well with legal study, and Notre Dame offers structured opportunities such as its Washington program for students seeking policy and government experience.

For law-school admission, the decisive undergraduate factors will remain GPA, LSAT performance, strong faculty recommendations, and evidence of serious reading, writing, and analytical work. Choose a major at either institution in which you can earn excellent grades while doing substantial analytical writing, rather than selecting a major solely because it sounds pre-law.
