How should I compare MIT and Virginia Tech for a civil engineering degree?

I’m a high school senior interested in civil engineering and am seriously considering both MIT and Virginia Tech. I’m trying to understand the most important differences between them for civil engineering students, such as academics, hands-on opportunities, and preparation for engineering careers.
