Penn State home games at Beaver Stadium bring enormous crowds, extensive tailgating, and a student body that treats major matchups as weekend-wide events. USC has iconic traditions of its own, including the Trojan Marching Band, Traveler, and games in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, but student engagement can feel less uniformly centered on football.

At Penn State, the White Out is one of college football’s defining student experiences. Students line up early, wear coordinated white, and create an intense atmosphere that is especially memorable for night games against major opponents. State College is also a classic college town, so restaurants, apartments, tailgates, and campus activity are concentrated around Penn State on game weekends; it is difficult to avoid being part of the event.
