Is Rutgers or the University of San Francisco better for nursing?

Rutgers’ School of Nursing has locations in Newark and New Brunswick and benefits from connections to major New Jersey hospitals and urban community-health settings. Its size can mean more resources, specialties, research opportunities, and a large nursing alumni network, though students should expect a bigger university environment.

USF’s nursing program can be appealing for students who value smaller classes, close faculty contact, and clinical exposure in San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area. The city provides opportunities to encounter diverse patient populations and complex public-health issues. However, students should evaluate the full financial picture carefully, including tuition, housing, and transportation, because San Francisco’s cost of living is a serious consideration even if clinical access is excellent.
