For a student confident that automotive engineering, vehicle development, or motorsports-style design is the goal, Ohio State is the more direct career-preparation choice because the automotive infrastructure is built into the campus and regional environment. Maryland is compelling when automotive engineering is one possible application of a wider interest in mechanical engineering, robotics, or advanced technology.
