How do you apply to Fordham University as a first-year student?

I’m a high school junior starting to build my college list, and Fordham is one of the schools I’m seriously considering. I’m trying to understand the basic application process for first-year applicants so I know what steps I should be preparing for ahead of time.

I’m not looking for exact deadlines, just the general way the application to Fordham works and what materials are usually part of it.

Fordham’s first-year application is pretty straightforward. You apply through either the Common Application or the Coalition Application, and you choose the Fordham school or campus options that fit your interests as part of that process.

For most first-year applicants, the main pieces are the application itself, your high school transcript, a school counselor submission, and usually a teacher recommendation. Fordham also considers your coursework and academic record closely.

You should also expect a personal essay through the application platform, and sometimes there may be Fordham-specific questions depending on the cycle. Activities, honors, and extracurricular involvement are also part of the application.

If you are applying to a program with special artistic requirements, there may be extra materials like an audition or portfolio, but that depends on the program.
