How do Stanford and Carnegie Mellon compare for undergraduate project-based learning?

The tradeoff is that Stanford’s project opportunities can be more self-directed. A motivated student can assemble an exceptional portfolio through labs, research, startup teams, and design courses, but they may need to seek out those pathways rather than encounter the same level of required technical building in every CS class.
