What high school courses and academic preparation does Virginia Tech expect for engineering applicants?

I’m a junior trying to figure out if my classes line up with what Virginia Tech looks for in engineering applicants.

I know engineering is usually more math and science heavy than other majors, and I want to understand the academic preparation they expect from high school students so I can see whether I’m on track.

For Virginia Tech engineering applicants, the key expectation is a strong college-prep schedule with the most rigorous math and science courses available to you.

Virginia Tech also pays attention to whether you challenged yourself relative to what your high school offers.

If your school does not offer certain advanced classes, they will read your transcript in that context.
