What is the campus experience like at UMD compared with the University of Georgia?

For a more immersive, traditional college-town atmosphere, the University of Georgia is likely the stronger match; UMD offers a lively large-campus experience but feels more connected to the Washington, D.C., area and its opportunities. At UGA, Athens is closely woven into student life, so classes, campus events, restaurants, music venues, and downtown socializing tend to blend together. UMD’s College Park campus has substantial activity of its own, but students also spread out to internships, jobs, and events in nearby D.C.
