Both computer science programs have strong international reputations, but employer access is usually most immediate in their home regions. For an international student, work authorization matters as much as name recognition: U.S. jobs can require visa sponsorship after OPT, while Singapore hiring depends on employers’ ability and willingness to secure the appropriate work pass.

UIUC is particularly valuable for students aiming to begin with U.S.-based product companies, startups, research labs, or graduate school.
