UIUC suits students who like breadth and a large, self-directed campus experience. Its school spirit and strong alumni culture can make major events and established organizations especially energizing. More prominent clubs, selective professional organizations, and some performance groups can be competitive to join, though there are many open-entry options and new-member pathways.
