UNC makes the most sense for someone who wants public health to be the center of their undergraduate identity. The strongest preparation there would come from pairing the BSPH curriculum with research, service in the Chapel Hill area, and quantitative coursework such as statistics or epidemiology. For health education specifically, look closely at available electives and experiential opportunities in health behavior, community engagement, and program evaluation, since the exact undergraduate major title may not be “health education.”

UIUC fits a somewhat different student: someone who wants a broad, interdisciplinary health degree while retaining more room to connect health with areas such as technology, data, psychology, or rehabilitation.
