Is the University of Cambridge or Boston University more academically prestigious?

For broad international academic prestige, the University of Cambridge is viewed at a distinctly higher level than Boston University. Cambridge suits a student seeking a highly specialized, intensive academic experience and a credential recognized worldwide as part of the small group of elite British universities. Boston University is also a respected international research university, especially known for strengths in areas such as communications, business, engineering, health-related fields, and the social sciences. But in an overall prestige comparison, BU is not typically placed in the same international reputational tier as Cambridge.
