It can be especially compelling for biomedical engineering, public health, neuroscience, data-intensive research, and roles connected to biotech or healthcare, where Hopkins’ research opportunities and institutional reputation carry real weight. However, you would need to be more intentional about securing Bay Area summer internships, traveling for some networking opportunities, and using alumni outreach from Baltimore.
