Compare official financial-aid offers, not published sticker prices. Cornell practices need-blind admission for domestic applicants and says it meets demonstrated financial need, but its package can include expectations for student work and loans depending on the year and family circumstances. NC State may be far less expensive even if Cornell provides significant grant aid, especially after including travel from North Carolina, health insurance if needed, personal expenses, and annual tuition increases.
