Its quarter system lets you take more classes over four years, which can make it easier to explore a science major alongside areas such as engineering, economics, data science, journalism, or music. The pace is quick, though, and science sequences can feel demanding because terms move rapidly. Evanston is a classic college setting with Chicago accessible by transit, so it offers both a campus-centered first-year experience and a large city’s internships and cultural options.
