How should I compare MIT and Yale for undergraduate STEM education?

I’m a high school senior interested in studying STEM, especially physics and computer science, and I’m trying to understand the main academic differences between MIT and Yale. Yale’s residential colleges create a more traditional, intimate undergraduate setting, and its distributional requirements make a broad education a central part of the degree rather than an optional add-on.

For a student who wants physics or CS to be the dominant academic and social focus, MIT is the more natural choice. Yale is the stronger match when you want first-rate STEM preparation while deliberately preserving substantial space for exploration beyond STEM.
