Oxford’s approach also demands more self-direction and comfort with intense preparation: tutorials can feel high-stakes because a tutor may closely probe every claim in an essay or solution. For the specific preference you describe, though, that structure is precisely the advantage: close feedback and small-group teaching are woven into Oxford’s academic culture far more consistently than at Brown.
