I’m a high school senior deciding between Boston University and Cornell, and research access is one of my biggest priorities. BU is a compelling choice for someone who values a more navigable undergraduate entry point and wants research closely tied to Boston’s medical, public-health, and urban professional ecosystem. In either case, meaningful hands-on work is most likely when you begin approaching labs during your first year rather than waiting until junior year.
