How does student support compare at Northwestern University and Notre Dame?

For a student prioritizing a cohesive, easy-to-access support network, Notre Dame has the edge.

Notre Dame’s residential model is the clearest differentiator for personal support. Many students remain connected to the same hall community throughout college, so help with a difficult adjustment, a roommate issue, or finding campus resources can begin with adults and peers they already know. Its smaller undergraduate setting and strong campus traditions can make it easier to build a dependable circle quickly.

Academically, both universities provide tutoring, writing support, faculty office hours, disability-related accommodations, and mental-health services. Northwestern’s academic opportunities are especially broad, and students can draw on specialized advising within programs such as engineering, journalism, communication, and Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences.
