How does undergraduate mentoring differ between Northwestern and Duke?

The biggest practical difference is that Duke builds more of its undergraduate mentoring into a residential, cohort-based experience, while Northwestern offers many strong faculty connections but expects students to assemble them more actively through their school, major, research, and campus programs. At Duke, the QuadEx model, faculty-in-residence, and first-year advising structure can create repeated contact points outside the classroom.
