Georgetown makes more financial sense for a student targeting fields where proximity to D.C. is unusually valuable, including public policy, international affairs, government, law-related work, journalism, and certain finance or consulting paths. Its smaller undergraduate environment and more structured access to Washington-based internships can produce a meaningful career advantage. For international students hoping to work in the United States, however, U.S. employment authorization can be a significant practical constraint after graduation.

Compare your actual four-year net price, not sticker price. Include grants and scholarships, health insurance, housing, travel, currency fluctuations, and likely borrowing.
