University of Miami vs. CSU Fullerton: Which offers better business internship opportunities?

The biggest tradeoff is that the University of Miami offers a more resourced private-school recruiting environment and stronger access to Miami’s finance, real estate, international business, and startup sectors, while Cal State Fullerton provides especially practical access to Orange County and greater Los Angeles employers. Miami’s Herbert Business School has dedicated career programming, alumni networking, employer events, and a location near a major business hub. CSUF’s College of Business and Economics benefits from a large Southern California regional alumni base and many employers that regularly hire interns who can commute during the semester.

For internships in finance, commercial real estate, wealth management, hospitality, sports business, international trade, or Miami-based entrepreneurship, Miami is likely to create more structured networking opportunities. Its smaller private-school setting can also make it easier to build relationships with faculty, alumni, and career advisers.
