Which is better for undergraduate engineering: UC San Diego or Ohio State?
I’m a high school senior deciding between UC San Diego and Ohio State for an engineering degree. I’m interested in comparing the overall strength of their undergraduate engineering programs so I can make a thoughtful choice between the two.

For someone who wants broad engineering options, a more traditional campus experience, and strong Midwest industry access, Ohio State is an excellent alternative. Assuming costs are reasonably similar, I would choose UC San Diego for its engineering reputation and specialized research ecosystem; a major price difference, however, should carry real weight in the decision.
