Tailgating is concentrated close to campus, and the town’s attention is intensely focused on the Tigers.

Ohio State’s traditions are exceptional and highly visible. The Horseshoe, the marching band’s Skull Session and Script Ohio, the Block O student section, and the scale of rivalry week create one of college football’s most recognizable game-day environments. Students who want to be part of a massive national-brand program, with an enormous stadium and crowds from across Columbus and beyond, may find that energy hard to beat.

The practical difference is intimacy versus magnitude. Clemson’s smaller, more campus-centered environment means football can feel like a shared weekly ritual among students. At Ohio State, game days are unforgettable, but the university and city are much larger, so the experience can feel more sprawling and less contained within student life.
