Students are spread across several residential colleges, demanding academic programs, and the broader San Diego area, so social life often depends more on intentionally joining organizations, attending college events, or forming a friend group early. It is less centered on big athletics-driven campus spirit than Virginia Tech, though there are plenty of clubs, cultural organizations, recreation options, and social scenes.
