Which university offers better undergraduate research opportunities, Northeastern or the University of Washington?

I’m a high school senior deciding between Northeastern University and the University of Washington, and research opportunities are one of my main priorities. I’m especially interested in getting involved in faculty research as an undergraduate, so I want to understand how the two schools compare in terms of access and overall opportunities.

For overall undergraduate research breadth and the scale of faculty research, UW has the edge. For a student who values structured pathways, closer mentorship, and the possibility of integrating research into co-op employment, Northeastern may provide the more accessible undergraduate experience.
