Northeastern vs. Carnegie Mellon: Which is better for a robotics career?
I’m a high school senior interested in studying robotics and eventually working in the field. I’m comparing Northeastern and Carnegie Mellon and want to understand which school generally provides stronger preparation and opportunities for robotics careers.

Carnegie Mellon is the more powerful choice for a student whose central goal is a robotics career. Its Robotics Institute is one of the field’s most established academic hubs, and CMU offers unusually deep access to robotics research across computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, machine learning, and human-computer interaction. The university’s coursework and labs are especially strong for students interested in autonomy, perception, manipulation, controls, and AI-driven robotics.
