Notre Dame offers the stronger overall undergraduate theology experience for a student centered on Christian thought and the relationship between faith and culture. Theology is a prominent undergraduate discipline there, not simply a religion department within a largely secular curriculum. Its Catholic intellectual tradition shapes campus life, course offerings, lectures, liturgies, and opportunities to connect academic study with lived faith.

Notre Dame’s Department of Theology has unusual breadth at the undergraduate level, with substantial work in Scripture, historical theology, systematic theology, ethics, liturgy, and global Catholicism.
