MIT vs. Yale: Which offers stronger opportunities for student innovation?

The tradeoff is that innovation at Yale may require more self-direction and intentional use of its resources, whereas MIT makes technical experimentation feel more built into the institution. For the specific goals you named, MIT is likely to provide more frequent, specialized opportunities and a stronger peer ecosystem for engineering-based entrepreneurship. Yale becomes especially attractive if you value that work but do not want engineering and startup culture to dominate your entire college experience.
