Is MIT or Stanford better for robotics?
I’m a high school senior interested in studying robotics and comparing MIT with Stanford. I want to understand which school is generally a better fit for an undergraduate who hopes to build a strong foundation in robotics.

The biggest practical tradeoff is MIT’s unusually dense, engineering-first undergraduate culture versus Stanford’s combination of robotics research with Silicon Valley access and broader flexibility across engineering, computer science, and entrepreneurship. Its robotics ecosystem is excellent, and its quarter system can make it easier to sample adjacent fields such as design, business, biology, or human-centered technology. The surrounding industry can create valuable opportunities for internships and exposure to how robotics moves from lab prototypes to products.
