Which offers stronger undergraduate teaching, the University of Florida or Wake Forest University?

For the priorities you named, Wake Forest is more likely to provide the stronger undergraduate teaching experience. Its smaller undergraduate population and private liberal-arts model create more seminar-style classes, closer faculty contact, and a culture in which professors are expected to teach and mentor undergraduates closely. At the University of Florida, excellent professors and strong teaching certainly exist, but the experience is less uniform because UF is a much larger public research university.

Wake Forest tends to suit students who learn best by speaking regularly in class, visiting professors during office hours, and building relationships that can lead to research, advising, and detailed recommendation letters. This does not mean every class is tiny or every professor is equally available, but individualized attention is a central feature of the institution.

UF can be a compelling choice for a student who wants the resources, course breadth, research activity, and energy of a major flagship university. In popular introductory courses, however, students may encounter larger lectures and more reliance on graduate teaching assistants.
