Is Vanderbilt or RPI More Prestigious for Engineering?

Graduate engineering programs will not treat either name as a substitute for your record. Research experience, rigorous coursework, faculty recommendations, technical projects, and academic performance matter more than a small perceived prestige difference. For a student committed to a conventional engineering career and wanting a deeply technical campus identity, RPI has the clearer engineering-specific reputation.
