Academic pressure is typically higher at the University of Chicago than at Vanderbilt. A UChicago student with a manageable course load, strong study habits, and comfort with intensive reading may thrive, while a Vanderbilt student in a heavy STEM or pre-health schedule can feel significant pressure. Still, for a senior specifically seeking challenge without an atmosphere that feels academically all-consuming, Vanderbilt is more likely to provide that balance.
