How does campus life compare at Pepperdine and the University of Arizona?

Pepperdine is the more intimate, scenic, and values-centered campus experience; the University of Arizona feels larger, busier, and more socially varied. Pepperdine’s Malibu location and smaller undergraduate population make it easier to recognize people, form tight friend groups, and spend social time around residence halls, the beach, and campus events. Arizona’s Tucson campus has the energy of a major public university, with far more student organizations, large athletic events, and activity extending into the surrounding college-city environment.

At Pepperdine, student community is shaped in part by the university’s Christian identity. Spiritual life, service, and campus traditions are visible, and many students find the culture supportive and relationship-oriented. Its alcohol and drug policies also make the social scene less centered on traditional college partying, though students still organize beach outings, small gatherings, and Los Angeles-area plans.

Arizona offers a broader mix of subcultures and social options.
