Its engineering programs offer solid preparation and students can build strong outcomes through internships and research, but an out-of-state student should compare the complete four-year net price, including housing, travel, and whether any award is guaranteed for renewal. With comparable academic effort and career engagement, graduating from NC State with less debt and stronger access to North Carolina-based recruiting is the more favorable financial outcome for this situation.
