Is McGill or USC better for social life?

For a senior prioritizing an active, built-in, highly social campus experience, USC is likely the stronger choice. McGill has a lively student community too, but its social scene is more independent and intertwined with Montreal than centered on one unified campus culture.

USC feels more like a traditional American campus: students gather around Trojan football, club events, performances, student organizations, and residence-hall programming. Greek life is visible, though it is not the only route to a social circle. The University Park campus also gives students a concentrated place to run into classmates and stay involved, even though Los Angeles is a large, spread-out city.

McGill’s major advantage is Montreal. Students can build an unusually rich social life through the city’s neighborhoods, restaurants, music, festivals, and bilingual cultural scene. It may take more initiative to find a consistent group than at USC.

USC is known for school spirit, networking-minded students, and a polished, energetic atmosphere. McGill tends to be more internationally diverse, academically independent, and city-oriented, with social circles often forming through residences, clubs, programs, and shared exploration of Montreal.
