Which is generally more selective for undergraduate admission: the University of Florida or UConn?

The University of Florida is generally more selective for undergraduate admission than UConn, especially for its main Gainesville campus. UF receives exceptionally high national demand for a relatively limited freshman class, and its admitted students tend to present very strong academic records. It is not an automatic admit for high-achieving Florida residents, despite being the state’s flagship public university.

UConn is also selective, particularly at the Storrs campus and in more competitive programs, but its overall undergraduate admissions picture is somewhat less restrictive than UF’s.
